Overrun clutch assembly spread out as much as possible........... Notice anything odd?
That's as far apart as it will come........ the 2 friction discs burned up and welded themselves firmly to one of the steel plates........ Not sure how I screwed up but that's the result of it.........
More new parts on the way.......
Just in-case anyone's ever wondered how many tools it takes to remove/re-install a transmission/transfer case assembly under a 1989 4x4 Suburban..... (screw-driver can be substituted with a small pry-bar) (transmission jack not pictured......)
unhooking it. So had to go to the dealer and order a new one (since apparently it's a dealer only item), it's supposed to be in tomorrow morning. I would have hooked up everything else and had it ready to go as soon as I got picked up the cable, but I just lost all motivation (beyond actually hanging it under the truck) to finish it up today after I broke that. So hopefully i'll be able to road test it tomorrow (only around my neighborhood since it doesen't have current tags or insurance yet) after get it all hooked up and change the filter/fluid.
